Dinner with Daniel Kawzyinski a Great Success!

The Curzon Supper Club event on December 13th with Daniel Kawzyinski MP was hailed as a great success by over 40 attendees.

The event was held at a new venue, the Half Moon Pub in Windlesham, for the first time. Landlord, Conrad Sturt and his team did a fantastic job and served up a superbly presented and cooked meal that won words of praise from everyone who attended.

Daniel spoke for approximately 20 minutes and then invited questions. The questions he answered were wide ranging and included subjects such as a European referendum, the state of the economy and the role of the media.

The last of these subjects prompted a wide-spread debate with Daniel and amongst the attendees.A first-time supper club attendee Melissa Lyon, who works for the BBC, started the debate by questioning Daniel about a future Conservative government's plans for the BBC. This and Daniel's answer prompted others to share their views and local resident Harry Turner, a previous Director of ITN, spoke eloquently on the subject of the role of independant media organisations.

Over dinner Daniel, who spent many of his early years in the local area, mentioned that one of the first jobs he had locally when he was a student was working at Cullens in Chobham! He phoned the following day to say how much he had enjoyed being back in the local area and speaking at the Curzon Supper Club.

Many thanks to Daniel for his warmth and energy! His Question and Answer session prompted so much discussion that he eventually spoke for well over an hour!
